Garage Door Repair Done Right

My name is Ethan Kay, and I was a garage door technician from 2013-2015. I worked on almost every garage door possible and I can honestly say that it got complicated from time to time but in overall the experience from the job was very enjoyable. Knowing that you are fixing someone's garage door and getting them back on their routine, was somewhat satisfying. Every service that I provided taught me something new about myself and about how I should do my next service better. Even though being a garage door technician isn't rocket science, it does require some kind of technical knowledge. Now I actually run my own garage door company and have a few technicians that work in the field providing garage door repair and service.

I guess the point of this blog is to get out some kind of awareness to the "Do It Yourself" kind of people that want to save a couple hundred dollars by repairing their own garage door. If it's a damaged section, a cable that has snapped and caused the door to go lopsided, if it is the most common repair which is a spring that busted and needs replaced to opener installations or repairs. If you don't have the experience, knowledge and some technical knowledge dealing with garage doors, I strongly suggest that you leave it to a professional. One mistake while trying to repair a cable or a spring, can backfire and hurt your body and damage your garage door even more.
